Mike has over 25 years of senior management experience in the Telecom, IT Services and Electrical/Electronics Manufacturing sectors. As Chief Operating Officer at Nautel, he is responsible for all aspects of the company’s broadcasting equipment and navigation-aid businesses and he plays a key role in the development and execution of strategies to grow the business into new sectors. Nautel is the world’s largest manufacturer of broadcast radio transmitters, having been founded 50 years ago in Hackett’s Cove Nova Scotia. Today the company employs more than 230 people in Halifax, Nova Scotia; Bangor, Maine and Cornwall, Ontario. In addition to the broadcast transmitters business Nautel is a significant player in navigation beacons, SONAR, eLORAN and other special purpose radio transmitters.
Prior to joining Nautel Mike held leadership roles at Seaforth Energy, Cobham Tracking & Locating, Aliant, and Andersen Consulting. At Seaforth Energy Mike was President & CEO having led the development of the business to pursue local opportunities in renewable energy and ultimately to the sale of the company to its largest competitor. Within the Cobham organization Mike was initially the President of Orion Electronics which was the North American leader in covert tracking solutions for law enforcement. That role evolved over time, becoming responsible for all of Cobham’s business units in the law enforcement surveillance sector.
