Georgeta Bauer

Georgeta Bauer received her BASc degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Waterloo in 1994 and her MASc in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Dalhousie University in 2000. She is currently working toward the PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering at Dalhousie University. Georgeta has worked in a multitude of fields including space, automotive, defence, and oceanography, and is a co-inventor of an internationally-commercial medical robotic work cell for automated inoculation. Most recently, she was the Engineer-in-Residence and an instructor of Mechatronics in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Dalhousie University. Her current research interests include assistive robotics, mechatronics, and advanced control methods. She is the recipient of the 2018 S.L. Devereaux Award for the Advancement of Women in Engineering from the Association of Professional Engineers of Nova Scotia, a Killam Laureate, a Dr. Eliza Ritchie Scholar, and an avid STEM and Makerspaces volunteer.
